License and billing help
Last updated: October 3, 2026
A Pro license is a key in your purchase email, pasted into EQBase once: there is no EQBase account. Monthly and annual plans cover 3 Macs and renew on their own; a lifetime license covers 1 Mac and never bills again. Most of what follows starts in EQBase's Settings › License, and the rest on your Lemon Squeezy order page, reached from the My Orders link in your receipt email.
How do I activate an EQBase license on my Mac?
Paste the license key from your purchase email into EQBase: open Settings › License, click Enter Key…, paste the key and click Activate. Pro unlocks on that Mac straight away, and the Mac takes one of your license's device slots: 3 on a monthly or annual plan, 1 on lifetime.
- Install EQBase on the Mac, free on macOS 14.4 or later, and open it.
- Open Settings, choose the License tab and click Enter Key….
- Copy the key from your purchase email, click Paste and then Activate.
- The plan now reads Pro. Manage… on the same tab opens the License window, which shows how many of the license's Macs are in use.
Moving to a new Mac, or every slot is in use
If EQBase says every device slot is in use, open the License window on a Mac you no longer use and click Deactivate This Mac…, or free a slot from your Lemon Squeezy order page, then activate again. Moving to a new Mac works the same way, with the same key, so replacing a machine never costs you a seat.
Your sound moves separately, as a preset file: how to export a custom EQ for reuse on another Mac.
Lost your license key?
It's in your purchase email from Lemon Squeezy: search your inbox for "EQBase". You can also reach your orders any time via the My Orders link in that email. Still can't find it? Email [email protected] and we'll help.
How do I renew an EQBase subscription?
You don't have to: Pro Monthly and Pro Annual renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel, and EQBase picks up each renewal in the background. To see the date, open EQBase's Settings › License and click Manage…: the License window shows when your plan renews.
- Check or change it: Manage Subscription in the License window opens your Lemon Squeezy order page, where you sign in with a link sent to the email you bought with; there is no EQBase account. The My Orders link in your receipt email goes to the same place.
- Cancel: from that same page. Cancelling stops future charges, and Pro stays active until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Changed your mind after cancelling? Until the paid period ends you can resume the subscription from the same order page. Nothing changes in EQBase.
- A renewal payment failed: update your card from the link in Lemon Squeezy's payment email, or on the order page. The subscription and its license key carry on, and EQBase picks the payment up in the background.
- It has expired: Pro switches off and EQBase carries on as the free version, with your settings and presets kept, and the License window shows Expired. An expired subscription can't be resumed from the order page, so buy a new one on the pricing page and activate the license key from that purchase email under Settings › License, as you would on a new Mac.
- Forgot to cancel? A renewal charge gets the same 14-day refund as a first purchase.
A Pro Lifetime license has nothing to renew: it is a one-time purchase that never expires and never bills again. Subscriptions are billed at the then-current price for your plan, and the terms promise notice before any price change reaches existing subscribers.
Does EQBase Pro work offline?
Yes. The app revalidates a license in the background now and then, and a subscription keeps working for 14 days with no connection at all. A lifetime license works offline indefinitely. A flaky network never turns your sound off.
Refunds and the lifetime license
Every purchase has a 14-day refund, no questions asked, to your original payment method, and the same window applies to a renewal charge you meant to cancel; the refund policy has the details. A lifetime license is one payment for every Pro feature that exists at the time of purchase, plus the updates released while EQBase stays in active development; the terms spell out exactly what it covers.
